The first-ever TPS: Broadband Innovation conference took place May 11, 2009 at the San Mateo Marriott, just before the opening of the 3rd annual Tech Policy Summit. You can view video of conference sessions in the Media Vault.

TPS: Broadband Innovation focused on best practices for achieving greater broadband access and increased usage in the United States by bringing together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to celebrate broadband's potential and to share strategies for taking the nation's connectivity to the next level.

The federal government has authorized approximately $7 billion in funding for broadband improvements as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and has also tasked the Federal Communications Commission with developing a national broadband plan. TPS: Broadband Innovation explored what those efforts might entail, what a comprehensive broadband strategy should include and what it all means for businesses and consumers.
