tech policy summit

Produced by SageScape LLC, Tech Policy Summit is the only executive conference of its kind that brings together prominent leaders from the private and public sectors to examine critical policy issues impacting technology innovation and adoption in the United States and beyond.

The 3rd annual Tech Policy Summit will be held May 11-13, 2009 at the San Mateo Marriott hotel in the San Francisco Bay Area (registration is now closed).

Tech Policy Summit's mission is to bridge the gaps that sometimes exist -- even between like-minded organizations with common goals -- and to encourage more dialog so that there is greater accord between what happens in D.C. and what matters in Silicon Valley.

The nonpartisan gathering provides an independent, balanced forum for learning and networking among an exclusive group of industry insiders, government officials, nonprofit leaders and academic experts who may have different perspectives but who share a common goal of enabling innovation.

regional broadband innovation

The producers of Tech Policy Summit (TPS) are hosting the inaugural TPS: Broadband Innovation conference on Monday, May 11, 2009 at the San Mateo Marriott hotel.

Co-located with the 3rd annual Tech Policy Summit, TPS: Broadband Innovation will assist community and business leaders by highlighting broadband applications and offering best practices for improving Internet access and adoption in the United States. TPS: Broadband Innovation will also examine federal efforts to improve broadband deployment, and the call for a comprehensive national broadband strategy.

App-Rising.com editor Geoff Daily, co-chair of the U.S. Broadband Coalition's implementation committee, will emcee the conference. For more information on the program, please visit the Speakers page and the Agenda page.

Registration is now closed but Tech Policy Summit attendees can automatically participate in TPS: Broadband Innovation sessions at no additional cost. Pl

We also invite you to learn more about the conference's sponsors.

TPS: eco-innovation

One of the policy priorities that will be addressed at the 3rd annual Tech Policy Summit conference May 11-13 is the role of government in accelerating cleantech innovation and, while working on the 2009 Summit agenda, it quickly became clear to us that we wanted to do even more to delve into all that is happening in green technology.

That is why we are excited to introduce TPS: Eco-Innovation, a new tech policy event taking place this fall in Silicon Valley.

TPS: Eco-Innovation will offer a comprehensive yet focused look at policies and regulations impacting green technology initiatives in areas like renewable electricity, smart grid infrastructure, energy efficiency and electronic recycling and e-waste. The date and venue will be announced here in May.

Through a series of Innovation Workshops and roundtable discussions, participants at TPS: Eco-Innovation will tackle tough, pressing questions:

  • Faced with significant economic challenges and a growing list of priorities, how will the Obama Administration and Congress act on their cleantech innovation agendas?
  • What are state and local governments doing to promote eco-innovation?
  • Where are the hurdles to innovation?
  • What are the solutions that will help cleantech reach a tipping point of mass adoption?

TPS: Eco-Innovation is about much more than marketing-driven efforts to "go green" (though those programs are part of the larger conversation). It is a deep dive into the specific ways in which government policies and programs affect cleantech development and market adoption.
